Diane Nash, Curlie McGruder, Z. Alexander Looby, and John Lewis helped shape this country from our own backyard here in North Nashville. From the desegregation of lunch counters - making Nashville the first desegregated city in the South, to the Freedom Rides, to the March on Washington, to the Voter's Rights Act. Each of these leaders are pictured in the mural taking long strides towards freedom while following the "Norf Star". The children in the mural represent the members of the community continuing the journey. This project was completed in partnership with Urban Housing Solutions & sponsored by Google Fiber.
